Advocacy: Refugee Resettlement
Out of the 65.6 million displaced men, women and children around the world, less than 1% are resettled. Every person should have the right to a safe life, free from fear of persecution. Advocacy for refugees is necessary, obligatory, and is needed now more than ever before. Through my experience interning with Refugee Services of Texas, I will provide an overview of the refugee-resettlement process and the importance of advocacy on a local, national, and international level.
